Is the Stripe OA proctored? Do you need the webcam on?▾

Reports disagree, and it seems to change over time. A September 2025 report said HackerRank required the webcam, with no live proctor, only random snapshots. Candidates in October 2025, March 2026 and July 2026 said they weren't asked to turn it on. A September 2026 report said the webcam was required again and called it a new rule. Plan for the camera being on.
